Gainesville, Ga., May 24, 2010 – In this era of economic turmoil, MHC Kenworth is looking toward the future with optimism and growth. The newest facility to join the Murphy-Hoffman Company (MHC) dealer network will open its doors in Gainesville, Ga. on June 1, 2010. The new location increases the total number of MHC stores in Georgia to three, with existing locations in Mableton and McDonough.


The Gainesville facility, located at Highway 985 and Highway 129 at exit 22, is 15,000 square feet with twelve service bays and a state-of-the-art drivers’ lounge equipped with a big screen television. The new location will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Gainesville will offer new and used truck sales, and all makes and models parts and service. The same great service and support customers have come to expect from the MHC dealer group will be available at this additional location.


“MHC has had Gainesville in mind as a target expansion location since we moved to Georgia in 2004. Our philosophy to support our customers with parts and service near their terminal locations was the driving factor of this decision,” commented Todd Rice, Vice President Georgia Region, MHC Kenworth. “We have gained many new customers within a thirty mile radius of Gainesville over the past four years. Likewise, many of our existing MHC carriers haul into the area because it is considered the largest United States city for poultry processing and distribution. Many of these carriers move freight to and from Gainesville without entering the Atlanta metro area. Therefore, this will provide an additional parts and service location for many of our out-of-state customers, as well as better support for the local market.”
