KIRKLAND, Wash., August 30, 2007 – Already available on its Class 8 on-highway trucks, the Kenworth PremierCare® Freedom Package is now available for new Kenworth medium duty conventionals.

The Kenworth PremierCare Freedom Package is a combination of an extended basic vehicle warranty and preventive maintenance program with a two-to five-year term that can be purchased with a new Kenworth medium duty truck and wrapped into a finance package.

“Our goal for the Freedom Package is to provide a cost-effective program which marries an extended warranty package with a preventive maintenance program,” said Dick Von Lehman, Kenworth PremierCare national sales manager for service. “It’s new for medium duty customers and provides a level of security against the unknown, thanks to the extended vehicle warranty. In addition, the cost per mile for maintenance can be as low as 5 cents per mile based on the five-year package.”

By selecting the Freedom Package, customers have all proper maintenance via S-level service (lube, oil/filter and 75-point safety inspection) and C-level service (comprehensive service with 147-point inspection) which qualifies for the annual DOT and one California quarterly inspection. A B-level service (comprehensive service with 120-point inspection) replaces the C-Level service in years two through five.

As part of the package, new Kenworth medium duty conventionals with the PACCAR PX-6 and PX-8 receive two services annually at 15,000-mile intervals. “For those running more miles, the program can be customized to fit our customer’s mileage and service requirements,” said Von Lehman.

Von Lehman said that the program allows customers to schedule vehicle maintenance at any Kenworth dealership in the United States and Canada, plus U.S. customers receive Bridgestone’s tire discount program.

“This is a great package which reduces downtime for customers while containing maintenance expenses,” said Von Lehman. “What’s more, with documented maintenance by Kenworth at the proper intervals, it sets the stage for customers to receive maximum resale value for their trucks.”
